Workout #1

I have decided to post workouts and healthy recipes every week so check in for some good tips!
Unless otherwise indicated you perform each exercise listed in the circuit in order. The first number listed next to each exercise is the amount of repetitions to perform, you choose the weight accordingly. Once each exercise in the circuit is complete start the next round following the second number of reps and continue this until you've finished the circuit. Don't be afraid to increase your weight as you feel comfortable with each exercise. Good luck!

And so it begins

Hello readers... This blog is starting as a result of several things, the most crucial one being an online site dedicated to those of us currently "in-between opportunities" at the time and it suggested that blogging is an excellent way to keep your brain moving and your interests sparked while missing that ever-elusive paycheck. So here it goes-

I moved to Clarksville, TN ( yes, that's right, I said Tennessee) about 60 miles north of Nashville (hence the title) to be with my boyfriend of more than 2 years who is currently serving in the US Army at Fort Campbell, KY. Having been a city girl my whole life from the D.C. area it is not surprising that I am having what some might call adjustment problems. What has replaced my most frequented spots of Whole Foods and Neiman Marcus are more Wal-Marts and fast food options than I knew existed, not to mention the plethora of churches and corn fields that surround me.
The jobs market is less than desirable here, I'd imagine significantly worse than that of the metropolitan area I just came from not to mention i have a BS in dietetics which I've come to find does me just about as much good as flip flops in a snow storm and personal trainers are not on the top of people's "what to do with the little discretional money I have left over from this crap shoot economy" and I am struggling to find things to entertain my time. I tried to volunteer for the American Red Cross the other day and who knew trying to GIVE AWAY time could be such a process?! Sitting through the excruciating 3 hour "orientation" only to find out that I needed to attend approximately 9 more to actually be prepared to volunteer left me feeling confused and less than enthused.
Don't get me wrong, it's not all grease and humidity down here. In the few months I've been down here're in the bible belt I have met some amazing people and have even managed to make a few friends believe it or not. I have become well versed in southern hospitality as well as what it takes to create an epic barbecue. We live in then most adorable white picket fence house( yes it actually is white with a front porch and rocking swing.) one good thing about living in Clarksville is that real estate is silly heap son we can afford to live in this story book cute house with more space than we have stuff to fill it with.
So friends that's all I've got for now. I hope you enjoy my babbling and will keep following this blog to see where I end up and all the antics I am sure to encounter here, north of Nashville.
